Governance: Difference between revisions

Governance refers here to the issues of responsibility, authority, accountability. This is intimately tied up with leadership; d the ethos of good governance should be addressed by all learners who expect to have leadership roles.

A major issue in governance is how the client interacts with those who are carrying out the work. Infrastructure clients often prefer to stand back and let consultants and contractor take responsibility for risk.  Evidence suggests that it is in the client's best interest to have critical thinkers on the project team  who are on the payroll of the client.  Such persons have the client's interests as their first responsibility. Those who are not on the on the client's payroll will have responsibilites to their companies that can over-ride the interests of the client.
